1. What Items can I store?
Just about anything! As long as it is under 50lbs, smaller than 15 cubic feet and doesn’t break any of our storage rules. So nothing fragile, hazardous, perishable, illegal or unsafe please.
2. What fits in a storage bin?
You don’t need to be a Tetris expert! Our bins are 3 cubic feet (16”W x 24”L x 13”H) and can hold up to 50 lbs, so you’ve got plenty of room to store your things. Can’t picture it? Each bin can store approximately 12 pairs of shoes, 30 shirts, 12 sweaters or 50 baby onesies.
3. What is the 3-month minimum storage rule?
There is a 3-month minimum storage rule for your first pick-up. Don’t worry, we will still deliver your belongings back to you whenever you need them, even within this time. If you do decide to take everything out of storage before the 3 months are up, you can, but will still be charged for the remaining time.
4. How do I prepare for my pick-up?
The best way to prepare for pick-up and save time is to gather all your items in one place. Bonus points if you can group them into bin size piles that are easy to pack! It’s also useful to try and pack items together that you’ll need returned at the same time. For example, Christmas ornaments in one bin, clothing in another. This way, you won’t get items back before you’re ready. Any items that you think might need a little extra padding would probably benefit from some bubble wrap or packing paper too.
5. Do I need to have my stuff packed before you arrive?
When we pick up your items the first hour is always free, with any additional hours just $30 each. So gathering your items together, before we arrive, can speed up the pick-up time and help you stay within the free hour. We also recommend that items not going into bins are packed securely before hand. This means taping up any loose cords or wrapping the item in bubble wrap.
6. What can I pack my stuff in?
If you don’t want to use the free ShuffleSpace storage bins for any reason we promise not to take it personally. Any sealable, durable container that is under 15 cubic feet, such as a suitcase, covered plastic bin or sturdy box will work. We won’t collect items in plastic or paper bags as they can rip or collapse quite easily.
7. What areas does Shufflespace serve?
Currently we serve downtown Toronto. Check our coverage map to see exactly where this means. If we are not currently serving your area, don’t fret! Either email us at email@example.com so we can let you know when we plan to cover your area, or sign up to our Newsletter for announcements.
8. How much does it cost to store my things?
With ShuffleSpace, you don’t pay for space you don’t use, just the items you store. It’s just $7 per storage bin and $12 per item. Try out our pricing calculator and see what it would cost to store your items.
9. How am I billed for the service?
You are billed on a monthly basis for the items you have in storage on your billing cycle date. Your billing cycle date is based on the day of your first scheduled pick-up and will be the same day each following month. Additional charges for Delivery fees are charged on the day the delivery is completed.
10. When will I receive my first bill?
We like to do our bit for the environment so we don’t issue paper bills (it also means you’ll never misplace or lose one). You can view your entire transaction history by logging into your account. Your first transaction will occur once your first pick-up is complete. If you need a printable invoice for any reason, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
11. How do I schedule a pick-up?
If you are new to ShuffleSpace: You need to start by signing up for an account. You’ll then be walked through scheduling a pick-up. Sign-up by clicking the link at the top right hand corner of the website.
If you are a current ShuffleSpace customer: Login to your account and on the left hand menu select “Schedule a pick-up”. You will then be asked to select the number of bins you need, how many items you would like to store and what they are. Then select a date and confirm your contact details.
12. How do I schedule a delivery?
Login to your ShuffleSpace account and select “View Items” in the left hand menu (if you’re not already on the page). You will then see a list of the items you have in storage. Select which ones you would like delivered by selecting the “Add To Deliveries” button next to each item. Once you have selected all your items click “Schedule Delivery” at the bottom of the page. You can then pick a date and then confirm your details.
13. How do I reschedule or cancel a pick-up or delivery?
Currently you are not able to directly reschedule a pick-up or delivery. However, you can cancel your current pick-up/delivery and schedule a new one. To cancel, login to your account and select “Pick-up/Deliveries” in the left hand menu. Select the pick-up or delivery you want to cancel and hit the cancel button.
14. How do I cancel my storage plan?
You do not need to do anything special to cancel your account. Simply arrange delivery of all your stored items and we’ll stop billing you once the delivery is made. Then, when you need us again in the future, your account can be reactivated by arranging a pick-up. If you are positive that you won’t need to store anything in the foreseeable future and would like to have your ShuffleSpace account removed, email us at email@example.com
15. Are my items stored in a secure warehouse?
Absolutely, your items are stored in a climate controlled facility that will keep them in the best condition. The facility is secure and monitored 24/7.
16. Can I visit the warehouse?
The great thing about ShuffleSpace is that you never need to visit the warehouse. We pick-up, store and deliver your items right back to your home when you need them. To ensure the utmost security of all items in our storage facility, only authorized ShuffleSpace staff are allowed in the warehouse.
17. How do you ensure my items are safe?
We track all items from pick-up. So we always know exactly where your items are during transport and storage. We then monitor our storage facility 24/7, and restrict access only to authorized ShuffleSpace personnel. To put your mind at rest, we additionally guarantee your items up to $2000.
